Thirty-six broadcasters confirmed: what it changes for your ticket

The EBU published the list of participating broadcasters on 28 October. Canada debuts, North Macedonia returns, five finalists are pre-qualified. Here is what that means for the nine sessions.

Thirty-six public service broadcasters will compete in Burgas, one more than in Vienna. The EBU's release names Canada as a first-time participant and North Macedonia as a returning one; Spain and Slovenia have until December to confirm. We link the release below rather than paraphrase it.

Five countries are already in the final: Bulgaria as host, and France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. The other thirty-one are drawn into the two semi-finals in Burgas in January 2027. Until that draw, nobody knows which country sings on Tuesday 11 May and which on Thursday 13 May.

For your ticket this changes nothing about price or category, and one thing about choice. If you are travelling for one country, the semi-final you need is decided in January; the Final Three pass covers both semi-finals and the final, so it does not depend on the draw. The Grand Final is the only session where every finalist is guaranteed to sing.

No artist or song has been announced for 2027. Our artists page lists the thirty-six countries and marks every entry as to be confirmed; it will fill as the national finals run through the winter. We do not publish names before the broadcasters do.
