Burgas will host: the dates, the arena, and what we know so far
The EBU and BNT chose Burgas on 13 August after a four-city process. Arena Burgas stages the three live shows on 11, 13 and 15 May 2027. Everything else is still to be published.
Burgas is the host city of the 71st Eurovision Song Contest. The announcement came on 13 August 2026, four months after DARA's victory in Vienna gave Bulgaria its first contest. The venue is Arena Burgas, a 15,000-seat hall on the northern edge of the city, opened in 2023; the three live shows are on Tuesday 11, Thursday 13 and Saturday 15 May 2027.
What is published: the city, the venue, the dates, and the fact that the official ticket sale will open in early 2027 through the channels the organiser announces. What is not: the stage, the hosts, the slogan, the categories and prices of the official sale, and of course the artists, whose season only opens on 1 September.
What we do with that: we sell the public allocation we hold, as we have for eleven contests, block by block and in euros, and we say plainly that we are not the EBU, not BNT and not the official box office. Our prices are ours. The arena plan on this site is a commercial schematic until the hall publishes its own.
The city is a port of 200,000 on the Black Sea with a five-kilometre seafront park, pink salt lakes to the north and an airport fifteen minutes from the arena. We will be writing about it between now and May.
