Vienna, 16 May 2026. DARA took Bangaranga to 516 points and a 173-point margin — the largest in the contest's history — and Bulgaria had its first win in its twentieth year of trying. The Wiener Stadthalle held around 11,000 people; the city held considerably more.
Within a month the EBU and BNT had opened the host-city race that Burgas would win on 13 August. The 70th contest closed an anniversary season and opened the shortest turnaround in recent memory: seven months from a trophy in Vienna to a stage on the Black Sea.
